Mort: Browns, Lions working trade

The Cleveland Browns reportedly are working on a deal to send defensive end Corey Williams to the Detroit Lions, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Cleveland is seeking a low-round draft pick from Detroit, Mortensen reports.

Williams arrived to Cleveland with much fanfare in 2008 after being traded from the Green Bay Packers. But Williams, who played in a 4-3 defense with the Packers, was never a good fit in Cleveland's 3-4. He recorded 31 tackles and four sacks last season.

The Browns are expected to be active this offseason and appears to be getting started early with Williams. They are seeking upgrades at a lot of positions, including quarterback, receiver and in the secondary.
