Can he do it?
Here is comprehensive film analysis of Holmes from Scouts Inc.'s Keith Kidd:
He is very dangerous and at his best running vertically down the field. He is very athletic and fluid in his movement with catching skills. He plays fast and is dangerous after the catch. He is an instinctive player who keeps his routes alive when the play breaks down, which works very well with [quarterback] Ben Roethlisberger's ability to keep plays alive with his feet in the pocket. If there are two areas of weakness that concern me is his lack of consistency as a route runner (release, natural set-up, functional play strength), along with too many balls that get to his body. However, Holmes is an intriguing young player with a tremendous upside based on his competitive demeanor and explosive playmaking skills. He will continue improve while taking his game to a new level in 2009 as the Steelers' No. 1 go-to-guy.
