Earlier this morning, we notified AFC North readers that Friday afternoon was the deadline for the Minnesota Vikings to match the Cincinnati Bengals' one-year offer sheet for starting fullback Naufahu Tahi. It appears the Vikings have made their decision.
According to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Vikings will match Cincinnati's $1.4 million offer. For the 2009 season, Tahi is now one of the highest-paid fullbacks in the NFL.
The Bengals will have to continue their search elsewhere, either through free agency or the NFL draft. The team has struggled to find consistency at the position for the past couple of seasons.
