Jets welcome Favre

Tight end Bubba Franks summarized it as "odd."
Quarterback Kellen Clemens said his initial reaction was "wow!"
Favre's arrival drew a crush of local and national media to Cleveland for an otherwise meaningless preseason game.
"It was definitely a different game day than normal," Faneca said with a smile. "You wake up and everybody is talking about you on the news. Being a night game, you have nothing to do but watch what's on the TV in the room and you get caught up to date."
A crowd of media surrounded Clemens' locker Thursday night to get his reaction. Clemens, who was competing for a starting job with former Jet Chad Pennington, said he was fine with the whirlwind situation that led to him being a backup.
"You don't get that many opportunities to learn from a guy like Brett Favre," Clemens said. "So I'm going to be soaking things up from him."
Franks, a teammate of Favre in Green Bay, was one of the first players Favre approached on the sidelines to learn the offense. Favre will have about three weeks to learn the system before the games count in the standings.
"It feels a little odd, but under the circumstances, we don't have a choice," Franks said. "He helped me a lot. My career in Green Bay, he pretty much made my career. So, I'm honored to be able to help him through this transition."
