Here are the most interesting stories in the AFC North:
- Cleveland Browns kicker Phil Dawson is expected to be present Thursday for the start of mandatory minicamp.
Morning take: It will be interesting to hear what Dawson has to say about his contract situation. He has been unhappy about his deal since last season, but Dawson has never said anything publicly.
- The Baltimore Ravens are wrapping up minicamps and organized team activities as they gear up for training camp.
Morning take: I can't wait to finally see full-contact practices once again. Let's begin separating the pretenders from the contenders.
- One day after getting his first Super Bowl ring, Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Santonio Holmes also had drug charges against him dropped from an October traffic stop.
Morning take: This has been something weighing on Holmes since last season. Now that this is behind him, Holmes can learn from this experience and focus on football.
- The Cincinnati Bengals are expecting production from a pair of second-year receivers in Andre Caldwell and Jerome Simpson.
Morning take: NFL receivers usually make strides in their second season. If the Bengals get quality play from at least one of these 2008 draft picks, the offense should do well.
