Don't worry, Steeler Nation. There's nothing to see here.
The Pittsburgh Steelers made a roster move that looked like a big deal Saturday night, but it's really insignificant. Quarterback Byron Leftwich was released less than 24 hours before Pittsburgh's Week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans.
The Steelers needed a roster spot after Pro Bowl nose tackle Casey Hampton (hamstring) was ruled out for Sunday's game. Leftwich is the emergency quarterback and working his way back from a MCL injury. He will return to the 53-man roster without a hitch on Monday.
Pittsburgh signed defensive lineman Steve McLendon to bolster the Steelers' thin defensive line. Perhaps the only thing Leftwich missed out on was a trip to Music City USA this weekend.
