PITTSBURGH -- Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said during his post-game news conference that receiver Hines Ward suffered a concussion in Sunday night's loss to the New England Patriots. The injury was initially described as a neck injury.
"He will go through his normal battery of tests after sustaining a concussion," Tomlin said. "We'll see where we are in terms of next week."
Ward said in the locker room that he felt he could return to the game but team doctors wouldn't allow it. That may be a sign that Ward could have a quick recovery for next week's game against the Oakland Raiders.
