A look at a player who gave his team a significant boost in Week 13.
Baltimore Ravens linebacker/defensive end hybrid Terrell Suggs was the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for November. But Suggs had perhaps his most dominant performance of the season in the first game of December against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In a huge rivalry game, Suggs recorded five tackles, 1.5 sacks and five quarterback hits on Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers won 13-10, but Suggs' effort kept the Steelers' offense at bay most of the game until Pittsburgh scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
Suggs had a down season in 2009 by his standards and recorded a career-low 4.5 sacks. He promised in the offseason he would never struggle like that again and has already doubled last year's sack total with nine in 12 games.
Roethlisberger and Suggs got to know each other very well Sunday night. But perhaps the best part of Suggs' performance against Pittsburgh is that he did a lot of hard hitting and didn't get fined in what was a physical and brutal game.
