Let’s dig into the mailbag.

Justin from Syracuse, N.Y.,
wants to know if the Cincinnati Bengals will trade for a cornerback.

James Walker:
Cincinnati will first scan the waiver wire to see what’s available, Justin. Cornerback is not as big a need as it appears on the surface because the Bengals have been using Chris Crocker in the nickel corner role and bringing in Chinedum Ndukwe to play safety on obvious passing downs. That lineup has looked pretty good in the preseason and was a creative idea from defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.

Chuck in Singapore
recently relocated out of the United States and wants to know his options to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers abroad this season.

James Walker:
Chuck, you would be surprised how many times I get that question from football fans around the world. It’s cool to know the AFC North blog is international. I’ve never lived abroad, but to my knowledge NFL Game Pass is the way most people abroad view or listen to the games. Occasionally you can find select games streamed online, but it’s very hit or miss and the quality usually is poor. I would recommend the Game Pass.

Rich C. from Uniontown, Ohio,
wants to know if Brady Quinn’s draft status carries any weight in the Cleveland Browns' quarterback competition.

James Walker:
With a new regime in Cleveland, it doesn’t carry much weight. It’s hard to deny Quinn an opportunity to compete for a starting job after the Browns traded back into the first round to get him in 2007. But in terms of winning the job, draft status only matters to fans. Cleveland coach Eric Mangini has been very fair, in my opinion, of monitoring reps and playing time for Quinn and Derek Anderson to see what both players can do.

Matthew F. from Severn, Md., asks:
With cornerback Samari Rolle out at least for the next six weeks, who will be the nickel cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens?

James Walker:
The Ravens have to choose between Chris Carr, Frank Walker and rookie Lardarius Webb. Although that decision hasn’t been made, I project Webb will eventually develop into that role, with one of the veterans holding the position for the time being.
