Getting to know: Dontay Moch

The AFC North blog continues its series on getting to know incoming rookies from the 2011 NFL draft.

Thursday we take a look at former Nevada outside linebacker Dontay Moch, who was a third-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Here is the scouting report on Moch via the well-respected draft guide of The Sporting News:

  • Strengths: Is a quick and athletic defender with the explosiveness to finish plays with a violent hit. Has the speed to chase down ballcarrier with ease. Is productive when bull rushing.

  • Weaknesses: Is an aggressive player, but bites on fakes. Gets upright sometimes, which leads to missing some tackles. Doesn't move well enough in traffic. Lacks experience in zone coverage. Moch is not an elite prospect because he doesn't make enough plays given his talent level.
