Better than Ben Roethlisberger?

6/13/2011

Last week Dan from Mexico became our inaugural AFC North "Hater of the Week" by saying he could name 60 players better than Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. These comments stemmed from some questionable rankings recently on Roethlisberger and Steelers safety Troy Polamalu.

Because we all hold each other accountable in the AFC North blog, I challenged Dan to provide his list of 60 players better than the two-time Super Bowl champion to let the community decide if Dan has a point or he's just blowing smoke.

Here was Dan's response:

"James, challenge accepted. However, the challenge failed on my part. I have 52 players that arguably are more valuable than Roethlisberger. However, Roethlisberger is a QB and that is the most important position. So in retrospect this was an impossible task. You win, however all I ask is that you lay off on the Steelers being so great. We get it. They're a great team, but you talk like Roethlisberger has single-handily carried them to that spot. Wrong, Dick LeBeau and the defense has. Ben is an excellent player, no doubt. But he's not elite."
