Here is your one-stop shopping for hot-button stories around the AFC North:
A team source tells Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun that the Ravens are "unlikely" to show interest in Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre.
Walker's take: There are several stages involved to where Favre would become available to Baltimore. But if it ever gets to that point, and Favre is there for the taking, the Ravens are making a mistake if they don't at least explore the scenario.
Also from the Baltimore Sun, the team will resume negotiations with rookie quarterback Joe Flacco Tuesday and Wednesday.
Walker's take: Most of the groundwork has been laid in these negotiations. Expect a deal to be reached soon, and certainly before training camp next week.
The USA Today has an in-depth preview of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Walker's take: Although many aren't starters, the article states the Steelers need production from their first- and second-year players. We tend to agree.
SportingNews.com has been heavy on rankings lately. It's latest offering is ranking the NFL's top 25 quarterbacks. Carson Palmer of the Cincinnati Bengals was No. 3, Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger was No. 5 and Derek Anderson of the Cleveland Browns was No. 16.
Walker's take: Add SportingNews.com to the list of pundits who want to see if Anderson can do it again in 2008.
By the way, I just wanted to send a quick thanks to everyone who participated in Monday's AFC North chat. If you missed it, here is the transcript.
