This is the first of a three-day series examining drafts for each AFC North team over the past three years. Grades are based on performance, where players were picked (too high, too low) and whether they remain with their original team.

Here is a look at the Steelers' 2005 draft:

Analysis: The Steelers didn't have a strong draft in 2005, but keep in mind the team was coming off a 15-1 regular season and had to pick near the end of each round. Tight end Heath Miller was a great value pick at No. 30. Miller had a mid-first round grade but health concerns dropped him to the Steelers. Cornerback Bryant McFadden is a contributor in the nickel and special teams, but he's probably considered an underachiever so far. Chris Kemoeatu was a decent find in the sixth round, but the rest of the second-day picks didn't pan out.

Grade: C-
