Ray Rice's strong performance against the Houston Texans has propelled him onto NFC West blogger Mike Sando's "MVP Watch."

Rice, the dual-threat running back for the Baltimore Ravens, ranks No. 10 and is one of five running backs on the list. He is the lone representative for the AFC North, but he's also the most deserving.

In four Ravens' wins this season, Rice is averaging 88.7 yards rushing and 62.2 yards receiving. Last Sunday, he had 161 yards of total offense in a 29-14 win over Houston.

Here's my top-five MVP candidates for the AFC North at this point:

1. Ravens RB Ray Rice

2. Bengals QB Andy Dalton

3. Steelers WR Mike Wallace

4. Ravens LB Terrell Suggs

5. Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley
