The AFC North blog will take a look at a matchup each day leading up to Sunday night's game between the NFL's biggest rivals -- the Ravens and Steelers -- and get a take from Matt Williamson of Scouts Inc.
MATCHUP OF THE DAY
BREAKDOWN: Both are coming off huge games. Roethlisberger threw for 365 yards and two touchdowns against New England, and Suggs had 13 tackles (including four for loss) against Arizona. Roethlisberger had won seven straight starts against the Ravens before a turnover-filled loss at Baltimore in the season opener. In his past eight meetings, he has averaged 239.8 yards passing, throwing 13 touchdowns and six interceptions against the Ravens. Suggs has sacked Roethlisberger 15.5 times (including playoffs), the most any NFL defender has dropped the Steelers quarterback. He recorded three sacks in the season opener against the Steelers.
WILLIAMSON'S TAKE: "Suggs destroys the Steelers as a pass-rusher. Just kills them. And he has put some huge hits on Roethlisberger over the years. But the Steelers are much better at both offensive tackle spots than they have been in some time. And they are also scheming to get the ball out of Roethlisberger's hands quicker on short routes. They also use a ton of multiple tight end sets, so expect a tight end on Suggs' side at all times. Still, this guy is hard to neutralize."
