Morning take: Derek Anderson feeling the pressure
Posted by ESPN.com's James Walker
Here are the most interesting story lines in the AFC North:
Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson knows it's time to produce or sit.
Morning take: Classic lead by Associated Press writer Tom Withers. Wish we had thought of it.
- Cincinnati Bengals running back Chris Perry says he has to get better for the team to be successful.
Morning take: Perry runs hard but only has a 3.0 yards-per-carry average. That tells us there aren't many holes being made up front.
- The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without nose tackle Casey Hampton and tailback Willie Parker for Monday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Morning take: This is a major blow to the Steelers. Baltimore wants to run the ball offensively, and the Ravens do not give up 100-yard rushers to anyone defensively. So rookie Rashard Mendenhall has a huge task carrying the load.
- Some media in Baltimore are already talking playoffs for the Ravens.
Morning take: Yikes! I know we live in a microwave society, but can we allow the season to progress before heading down that road? The Ravens have looked impressive in two games. That puts them in early contention. Let's leave it at that for now.
