PITTSBURGH -- I've arrived back in my home away from home these days for Thursday night's Browns-Steelers game.
It's Week 14 but it's the first meeting of the season between these two AFC North rivals. Actually, it hasn't been much of a rivalry lately when you look at recent history:
The Browns have lost seven straight road games to the Steelers and are just 1-14 in their past 15 games against Pittsburgh overall, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Cleveland’s only win in its past 15 meetings with Pittsburgh was in Week 14 of 2009, which just happened to be played on Thursday night.
The last time Cleveland won the season series against Pittsburgh was at two stadiums that don't even exist anymore. It was back in 1988 when the Browns defeated Pittsburgh, 23-9, at Three Rivers Stadium and beat the Steelers, 27-7, at Cleveland Municipal Stadium.
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is 12-1 in his career against the Browns. He has thrown 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions against Cleveland.
Just a reminder that I'll be providing some pregame coverage a few hours before kickoff.
