Tomlin says Roethlisberger is 'no worse'

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said he had a "little setback" when he tweaked his ankle injury last Sunday at Cleveland.

But that's apparently news to Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin, who was asked Wednesday whether he would characterize Roethlisberger's injury as no worse this week.

"Certainly, I would characterize it as no worse," Tomlin said Wednesday, via The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I have yet to see him, of course, today. We will see how he is moving forward. I mentioned [the injured ankle] because of protocol, to be quite honest with you. You have to acknowledge existing injuries, moving forward, it is NFL protocol. I am not overly concerned about his physical state and preparation for this game."

The Steelers play a wild-card playoff game at Denver on Sunday.
