Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is quietly putting up some of the best numbers of his career, and the proof is in his accuracy.
According to ESPN’s Stats & Information, Roethlisberger currently has the second-highest completion percentage of any quarterback through five games since the NFL/AFL merger. He’s completing 73.8 percent of his attempts, which is behind Tom Brady’s pace of 74.1 percent for the first five games in 2007.
This is particularly impressive considering Roethlisberger has been the victim of several drops this season by receivers Santonio Holmes, Limas Sweed and Mike Wallace. Still, Roethlisberger has thrown for 1,470 yards, eight touchdowns, five interceptions and a 102.6 passer rating.
