Multiple teams already have had preliminary discussions with St. Louis about the possibility of trading for the Rams' second overall pick, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The report says "chances are" the Rams are trading down.
That begs the question: So who is trading up?
If the Browns want Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, Cleveland had better be ready to dial up the Rams. Multiple teams aren't talking to the Rams about moving up for USC offensive tackle Matt Kalil. If anyone is jumping to that spot, it's for RG3.
Most assume that RG3 isn't going to fall to the Browns at the No. 4 spot. This report is just increasing the sense of urgency to move up.
The advantage that the Browns have over those other teams is that they can allow the Rams to move back and still get either Kalil or wide receiver Justin Blackmon.
The Browns have to decide whether RG3 is worth the cost of trading up. That's what the NFL combine is all about.
