Posted by ESPN.com’s James Walker
I took a lot of punishment from our AFC North community in the spring for writing the Cincinnati Bengals would be sleepers in 2009.
I know it’s early. But now that the Bengals (4-1) are in first place and off to a fast start, I thought it would be a good time to replay some of those messages for entertainment purposes.
Enjoy.
- “I can’t stop laughing at Jimmie, oops, I meant James Walker. He asked if the Bengals are a sleeper in 2009 because they won their last three games? LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL. I can’t stop.”
- “Is this a joke? James how long did you laugh after writing this article? If you were serious about it you just wasted the hour or so it took to write this crap.”
- “When I saw this article I started laughing before I even read the thing. How can anyone even write this and not laugh. I mean, come on, they had to know they were full of crap when they wrote it. If we are going to consider the Bengals a sleeper, let’s just call the Lions and the Rams sleeper as well. Give me a break.”
- “JW is a funny guy.”
- “Dumbest article ever.”
- “I really thought this was an April fool’s joke when I read it.”
- “Haha! April Fools! Good one JW. Yeah, and the Pirates are going to get above .500 too!”
- “If the Bengals are the sleepers of football then I guess that the Pirates are the sleepers this year in baseball. Give me a break. If the Pirates compete then I will believe you.”
- “Bengals’ O does not stand a chance against the Steelers' D. Bengals are not a sleeper.”
- “I guess anything is possible but don't you think you might be reaching a little bit here?”
Remember the offseason?
