This is the dead period of the offseason, the time between minicamps ending and training camps beginning. But there's still work to be done, especially when it comes to contracts.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco and running back Ray Rice along with Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace are all in line for long-term deals. Which one gets his deal done before the start of training camp?
Joe Flacco: The sides have been talking since the NFL combine in February. He is making $8.8 million in the final year of his contract.
Marvin Lewis: The winningest coach in Bengals history said last week that there are no updates in contract talks. He is entering the final year of his contract.
Ray Rice: The NFL's leader in total yards last season will play under the $7.7 million franchise tag if the sides don't come to an agreement before the July 16 deadline.
Mike Wallace: The Steelers' No. 1 wide receiver has yet to sign his $2.72 million restricted free-agent tender because he believes he deserves a long-term deal from the team.
