Poll results: Whose deal gets done first?

Not sure if this is a sign of confidence or merely optimism, but most believe Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Mike Wallace has the best shot at getting a new long-term deal done before training camp begins in late July.

In a SportsNation poll that drew more than 7,000 votes, 35 percent chose Wallace as the one who will get rewarded first in the AFC North. Ravens running back Ray Rice was second (24 percent). Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco (14 percent) and Bengals coach Marvin Lewis tied for third.

In his mailbag, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter didn't agree with the poll voters who think Wallace will get a new deal this year:

It'll be difficult because of the money the Lions paid Calvin Johnson and the Cardinals to Larry Fitzgerald. That's not to say it won't get done, but the most likely scenario is Wallace playing this season under the $2.7 million tag.

My vote would have gone to either "None of the above" or Rice. The reason I say Rice is because NFL deals usually get done when there is a deadline, and Rice's deadline to sign a new deal is July 16. If nothing is signed by that date, he has to play under the $7.7 million franchise tag.
