The Ravens hold the first full-team practice of the AFC North training camps on Thursday. The rest of the division -- the Bengals, Browns and Steelers -- take the field Friday afternoon.
This is really the official start of football season for me. The teams begin their meaningful work, which gives us topics to discuss and debate.
I will be in Owings Mills, Md., for the first couple days of camp for the reigning AFC North champions and will post blogs after Ray Lewis and Ray Rice speak late Wednesday. This will be an informal visit with the Ravens as I plan to stop back later in camp. Just like the spring minicamp, I will be making my way to every training camp in the division.
Here's my 2012 AFC North training camp tour:
Aug. 1-2: Cleveland Browns
Aug. 7-8: Cincinnati Bengals
Aug. 15-16: Pittsburgh Steelers
I will provide some news and notes from each camp when I'm there. But a good portion of my visit will be focused on putting together the "Camp Confidential," a thorough piece that will run a few days after every departure.
So, keep in touch with me during my travels and drop me a note in the mailbag every once in a while.
