Here are the most interesting stories Wednesday in the AFC North:
  • Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writes Steelers receiver Santonio Holmes also has sickle-cell traits. But it won’t affect him Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
Morning take: Holmes played in Denver before and just complained about shortness of breath. But that's a condition a lot of Steelers will face in Denver.
  • Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun wonders if the Ravens' secondary can play well for a second straight week.
Morning take: The bigger question might be can the pass rush bring it two straight weeks? The secondary played much better when the quarterback was nervous in the pocket.
  • Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com caught up with former Cincinnati Bengal and Raven Willie Anderson to get his thoughts on this weekend's big game.
Morning take: Anderson says the matchup is even. This will be a tough pick to make later this week.
Morning take: Until recently Lerner has never been very hands-on with the team. Maybe this shakeup is the first sign of ownership taking a different approach.
