PITTSBURGH--The Steelers offense has been in neutral since the first quarter.
Then Nate Washington hit the clutch to jumpstart Pittsburgh with one big play. The Steelers caught the Giants by surprise on first down by going deep to Washington for a 65-yard touchdown to take a 14-9 lead early in the third quarter.
Pittsburgh spent most of the first half trying to grind out yards with running and short passes. It didn't work.
But quarterback Ben Roethlisberger caught New York in a cover two and had Washington streaking one-on-one with Giants safety Kenny Phillips for a big one-play, 65-yard scoring drive that could go down as one of the biggest plays in this contest.
