PITTSBURGH -- Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin believes starting cornerback William Gay suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of their 27-24 loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Considering a short week, this likely means Gay will be ruled out for Thursday night’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

"I’m going to have further information in regards to him later," Tomlin said. "Looks like he sustained a concussion of some kind out there. I don’t know to what extent at this point."

Among the candidates to replace Gay in Pittsburgh's next game will be veteran defensive back Deshea Townsend and rookies Joe Burnett and Keenan Lewis.
