Morning take: Favre vs. Bengals

December, 8, 2009
Here are the most interesting stories Tuesday in the AFC North:

  • The Cincinnati Bengals (9-3) gear up to play the Minnesota Vikings (10-2) with quarterback and MVP candidate Brett Favre.
Morning take: Few outside Cincinnati realize the Bengals started the Favre legend. Cincinnati knocked former Green Bay Packers quarterback Don Majkowski out of a game in 1992. Favre entered, engineered a comeback, and Favre has been starting ever since.

  • Speaking of the Packers, the secondary of the Baltimore Ravens struggled during a 27-14 loss to Green Bay,
Morning take: This is not a surprise. Baltimore needed a pass rush Monday to help and never got it.

Morning take: We addressed this Monday, and based on responses in the AFC North inbox, I need to clarify. The post was meant to outline players the coaching staff might look at, not who I personally believe should be benched. It’s Mike Tomlin who will make that call.

Morning take: The Browns (1-11) need a boost anywhere they can get it. The play of quarterback Brady Quinn and receiver Brian Robiskie provides something to look forward to in the final month of the season.
