A source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that the chances of safety Ed Reed signing with the Houston Texans is "50-50 at best" despite Houston pulling out all the stops on his visit. Schefter says there is a chance Reed could end up coming back to the Baltimore Ravens. San Francisco and Indianapolis are other possible options.
Reed spent last night in Houston and returned to Houston's Reliant Stadium offices Friday morning.
"You don't know what's going to happen," Reed told Comcast SportsNet in Houston on Thursday night. "This is just a visit."
Asked if the option to return to the Ravens isn't there, Reed said, “I think, as an organization, they kind of want things on their terms. Seeing how things have transpired over there right now, it’s like wow, I just kind of can’t believe how things are happening from a business standpoint when guys give you blood, sweat and tears and give you everything. And try to do the best for the team. Players definitely did that. Baltimore is a great organization over the years as we all know, and do the right things for the organization. You’ve got to respect that. Every organization does it."
