Baltimore Ravens

The signing of inside linebacker Rolando McClain means the Ravens can stick to their draft philosophy of selecting the best player available. Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun has the story.

Garrett Downing of the team's website focuses his mock draft spotlight on safety Jonathan Cyprien of Florida International. The small-school product is considered a possible target for the Ravens at pick No. 32.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals are to visit with linebacker Karlos Dansby, who has been with the Dolphins the past three seasons, writes Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Dansby had a career high 134 tackles last season, but was released after Miami signed former Raven Dannell Ellerbe early in free agency. Dansby is a middle linebacker, so if he were to sign with Cincinnati, it's unclear if incumbent Rey Maualuga would change positions.

The Bengals released defensive back Jason Allen, writes Reedy. Because of injuries, Allen played in just four games. The move will save the Bengals $3.2 million.

Reedy's updated player-by-player breakdown of Bengals salaries (base salary and cap number) with two weeks left until the draft.

Cleveland Browns

Would the Browns consider using the No. 6 overall pick in the draft to select quarterback Geno Smith of West Virginia? ESPN analysts Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay say yes, so Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal explores the possibility.

Once his football playing days are over, Browns linebacker James-Michael Johnson wants to stay in the game as a coach. Matt Florjancic of the team's website has the story.

Pittsburgh Steelers

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Steelers plan to bring free-agent running back Ahmad Bradshaw in for a second visit prior to the draft. The Steelers want to check the status of Bradshaw's surgically repaired right foot, according to a source. If everything checks out, the team will make an attempt to sign the running back.
