Morning take: No deal yet for Holmgren

Here are the most interesting stories Wednesday in the AFC North:

  • After meeting with the Cleveland Browns for two days about their vacant front-office position, Mike Holmgren left their training facility Tuesday with no deal in place.
Morning take: Cleveland's full-court press hasn't worked yet, but it might. The Browns at this point need to hope the Seattle Seahawks do not join the Holmgren sweepstakes.

Morning take: I do think the close losses have drained this team mentally. How else do you explain Pittsburgh's poor effort against Cleveland? It will be interesting to see which team shows up Sunday against the Green Bay Packers (9-4).

Morning take: As expected, tailback Ray Rice, who I think is the Ravens' MVP this year, won't get the fan vote. Perhaps the NFL coaches and players will give Rice the nod.

  • Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer says the offense is not going to change its identity of running more than passing.
Morning take: There is something to be said for sticking with what got the Bengals to 9-4. But what happens, like in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings, when a team just as physical won't let Cincinnati run it 30-35 times?
