Thought of the Day: Ravens and playoffs

12/28/2009

We have another interesting "Thought of the Day" in the AFC North blog.

This week we want to know which team Baltimore Ravens (8-7) fans would rather face in the postseason: The Cincinnati Bengals (10-5) or New England Patriots (10-5)?

Baltimore controls its own destiny and can clinch a wild card with a win over the Oakland Raiders (5-10). Not to look too far ahead, but if the Ravens get in they will have a rematch in the playoffs against one of these aforementioned division leaders.

The Bengals beat the Ravens twice this year, including a 17-7 win in Cincinnati on Nov. 8. Would Baltimore prefer to try its luck a third time or avoid the Bengals because of the recent losing streak?

A dropped ball on fourth down by Mark Clayton was the difference in Baltimore’s 27-21 loss to New England on Oct. 4. Would the Ravens prefer the Patriots in January, or is avoiding Tom Brady in the postseason a bigger priority?

Send your "Thought of the Day" comments below or to our AFC North inbox. We will run the best responses during the week.
