Emmanuel Sanders practices for Steelers

11/20/2013

PITTSBURGH -- It didn’t take long for wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to recover from the foot injury that knocked him out of the Pittsburgh Steelers' 37-27 win over the Detroit Lions.

Sanders returned to practice on Wednesday and, barring a setback, he should be able to play Sunday when the Steelers visit the Cleveland Browns.

“I don’t have any soreness, I don’t have any pain,” said Sanders, who left the game last Sunday in the second quarter and didn’t return. “I am good. I just got [my foot] stepped on.”

Sanders and left tackle Kelvin Beachum were full participants in practice after coach Mike Tomlin said in the early part of the week that each might be limited.

Defensive end Brett Keisel did not practice as he is still dealing with plantar fasciitis, which prevented the 12th-year veteran from playing last Sunday. Safety Shamarko Thomas (ankle) was the only other player who did not take part in the Steelers’ first practice of the week.

Left guard Ramon Foster (ankle) and outside linebacker LaMarr Woodley were among those who were limited in practice. Foster said his injured ankle felt good but that “we’ll just wait to see how it responds tomorrow.”

Also limited in practice were center Fernando Velasco (knee), linebacker Stevenson Sylvester (knee) and tight end Heath Miller (coach’s decision).
