Here are the most interesting stories Friday in the AFC North:
- ESPN's Chris Mortensen and the author of this blog notes Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan is being courted for head coaching positions.
Morning take: And it's well deserved. Ryan has been one of the NFL's top assistants for a while, but this offseason appears to be his best chance to land a top spot for another team.
- Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer provides an updated list of GM and coaching candidates for the Browns.
Morning take: Not a bad list. So far, the Browns have been fast and efficient in their search.
- Is a bye good for the Pittsburgh Steelers?
Morning take: Indeed, the last three teams to win a Super Bowl did not have byes. But with an injured quarterback, Pittsburgh is one team that desperately needs it.
- Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com points out the Cincinnati Bengals' struggles on offense this year.
Morning take: Surprisingly, the Bengals gradually developed into a defensive team this season. Who would have thought?
