Take your pick: Steelers' Week 1 QB
By James Walker
Now that we know embattled quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will miss four to six games for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, let's look at the next step for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Who should be Pittsburgh's Week 1 starter: Byron Leftwich, Dennis Dixon or Charlie Batch? Take your pick.
All three quarterbacks bring something different to the table.
Batch is a savvy veteran with plenty of starting experience. Dixon is inexperienced but very athletic and can make plays with his feet. Leftwich has the strongest arm of the three and filled in admirably for Roethlisberger in 2008.
The trio is in consideration to lead Pittsburgh's talented offense during the first month of the season. The Steelers' offense includes a Pro Bowl tight end (Heath Miller), a 1,000-yard receiver (Hines Ward) and a 1,000-yard rusher (Rashard Mendenhall).
So take your pick on who will prevail between Leftwich, Batch or Dixon. You can share your thoughts below, in our division inbox or AFC North Twitter, and we will run the best responses throughout the week.
