Ben Roethlisberger decision coming soon
By James Walker
Lost in the hoopla of the NFL awarding New York/New Jersey Super XLVIII was word Tuesday evening that the league will make a decision soon on when Ben Roethlisberger can rejoin the Pittsburgh Steelers.
According to commissioner Roger Goodell, he will decide on a return date for Roethlisberger within the next week.
The embattled quarterback, who had two sexual assault allegations in the past year, underwent a league-mandated behavioral program and hasn't been allowed to practice with the team. Roethlisberger also has been hit with a conditional six-game suspension but will be allowed to participate in camps at some point and play in the preseason.
Roethlisberger recently joined his teammates for a golf outing in what was a rare public appearance. If he takes the proper steps over the next several months, his suspension could be reduced to four games this fall.
