Morning take: Mendenhall's rising star
By James Walker
Here are the most interesting stories Tuesday in the AFC North:
Morning take: A big Super Bowl against a very good Packers defense would go a long way. Mendenhall is already coming off one of his best games of the season against the Jets.
- Is Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall on the cusp of stardom?
Morning take: This is a surprise because Gaither wanted a new contract last year and didn't get it. Perhaps the inconsistent play on the offensive line could lead to a change of heart.
Morning take: No surprise here. Benson said he wasn't returning if Bratkowski stayed. Now the Bengals have to find a replacement.
- Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson is encouraged that offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski was fired.
Morning take: Mark Whipple is the biggest name, because he will work with rookie quarterback Colt McCoy. But I still wonder if not hiring an offensive coordinator is the right move.
