Poll Friday: Best RB in AFC North?
By James Walker
We have another interesting "Poll Friday" question, and this week it focuses on the running game.
The question: Who is the best running back in the AFC North? There are four good choices, and all rushed for more than 1,000 yards last season.
Is Ray Rice of the Baltimore Ravens the No. 1 tailback in the AFC North? Rice is one of the most versatile and dynamic offensive players in the NFL and is a threat in the running and passing games for Baltimore. Rice already has been to one Pro Bowl in three seasons.
Or is it Rashard Mendenhall of the Pittsburgh Steelers? Mendenhall's running added balance to Pittsburgh's offense and helped the team get to the Super Bowl last season. Mendenhall also improved his toughness in the red zone and between the tackles by scoring a career-high 13 touchdowns last season.
What about Peyton Hillis of the Cleveland Browns? Hillis took the division and the NFL by storm last year, producing his first 1,000-yard season. His accomplishments also made him extremely popular in Cleveland and led to his winning the "Madden NFL 12" cover tournament.
Finally, don't forget about Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson. He rejuvenated his career with the Bengals and produced back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. Benson's physical style has been a good fit in the AFC North. Is he the best running back in the division?
