Browns dropping the ball

By Jamison Hensley

One of the things on the Browns' to-do list during the bye week should be catching the ball.

A quarter of the way into the season, the Browns rank second in the NFL in drops with 10, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Only the St. Louis Rams have more with 12.

Coming off a rough game, backup running back Montario Hardesty leads Cleveland with four drops. The others with multiple drops include wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi and tight end Ben Watson, both of whom have two drops.

This hasn't helped the development of quarterback Colt McCoy, who is in his first full season as an NFL starter.

The Ravens have the second-most drops in the AFC North with six. Tight end Ed Dickson and running back Ray Rice lead the Ravens with two drops each. The Bengals have five drops and the Steelers have three.
