Boldin continues on his 'vision' quest
By Jamison Hensley
Joe Flacco predicted that Anquan Boldin would provide a spark in his return, and that's exactly what the veteran wide receiver did.
Boldin caught four passes for 73 yards in Sunday's divisional playoff win over the Houston Texans. He had more yards receiving than all of the Ravens' wide receivers had combined in the two games that Boldin missed after having knee surgery (which was 71 yards receiving).
"I think any time you get a guy back like that," Flacco said, "everybody on our offense sees that and gains confidence from it and gains a little bit more energy from it."
Most of Boldin's receptions came against struggling cornerback Kareem Jackson and were also very timely. Three of his four catches came on scoring drives, including a 10-yard touchdown grab in the first quarter. It was Boldin's first touchdown since Nov. 20.
"For me, my vision is much bigger than this game," he said. "I came here for one reason and one reason only -- that's to win a championship. We felt like Houston was in our way today, and we wanted to go out and make enough plays to win."
