PITTSBURGH -- The Cleveland Browns put up a decent fight, but the more talented team eventually prevailed as the Steelers earned a 27-14 victory over their division rival.
The game was sloppy and had very little flow as both teams combined for eight turnovers. There was one sequence when both teams committed three consecutive fumbles -- two by Pittsburgh and one by Cleveland -- to end the third quarter.
But "Big" Ben Roethlisberger had a big day carving up Cleveland’s defense. Roethlisberger had his second career 400-yard passing game with 417 yards through the air as the Browns struggled to cover just about everyone. Hines Ward had the biggest day among Pittsburgh receivers with eight catches for 159 yards and a touchdown.
Pittsburgh’s defense held the Browns (1-5) to just seven offensive points in the return of Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu, who finished with four tackles and an interception.
After a shaky start, Pittsburgh (4-2) now has won three games in a row.
