McShay's 2013 mock: AFC North version
By Jamison Hensley
ESPN's Todd McShay has already turned the focus to next season and had some fun projecting how the 2013 draft might unfold. He used an order derived by reversing the post-draft power rankings of Scouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson, and the players are those who jump to mind as possible standouts during the 2012 college season.
You'll need a subscription to see the entire post, but here's the AFC North part of it:
4. Cleveland Browns
Pick: Robert Woods, WR, USC
Hensley's comment: The Browns are still in search of a No. 1 wide receiver after filling the voids at running back, right tackle and quarterback this year. Woods, who is 6 feet 1, 190 pounds, is on pace to break USC career pass catching and kickoff return records.
25. Cincinnati Bengals
Pick: Alex Okafor, DE, Texas
Hensley's comment: Robert Geathers turns 30 next season, and the Bengals need a pass rusher to compliment Carlos Dunlap. Okafor recorded seven sacks and 14 quarterback hits last season.
26. Baltimore Ravens
Pick: Kevin Reddick, ILB, North Carolina
Hensley's comment: There's always talk about finding the eventual successor to Ray Lewis, who is entering his 17th NFL season this year. Reddick is going to be a four-year starter who finished last season with 71 tackles including six for losses.
30. Pittsburgh Steelers
Pick: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
Hensley's comment: The Steelers need to start thinking of the future with Heath Miller turning 31 next season. Eifert caught 63 passes last season for 803 yards and five touchdowns.
