Harbaugh: 'Torrey's priority is his family'
By Jamison Hensley
Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh doesn't know whether wide receiver Torrey Smith, who is dealing with the death of his younger brother, will play Sunday night against the New England Patriots.
"Torrey's priority is his family," Harbaugh said. "We understand that completely."
Tevin Chris Jones, 19, died Sunday morning after a motorcycle accident in West Moreland County in northeast Virginia. Smith was notified at the Ravens' downtown Baltimore team hotel shortly after 1 a.m. and left immediately to be with his family.
"This is devastatingly sad, sad news," Harbaugh said. "Torrey and his family are a close, special family, and our hearts and thoughts reach out to all of them. Our hearts ache today. We pray for Tevin, his mother, Torrey and the rest of the family. God bless Tevin."
If Smith is unable to play, Jacoby Jones would start in his place. Jones caught a 21-yard touchdown pass last Sunday in Philadelphia and had another touchdown reception taken away because of a questionable offensive pass interference penalty.
