A.J. Green back on MVP Watch
By Jamison Hensley
The AFC North has only one player on the ESPN.com's MVP Watch. It's not Ben Roethlisberger, Joe Flacco or even Ray Rice. The lone representative is Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green.
It's hard to argue against Green being on the list. He's the best wide receiver in the NFL right now. Green leads all NFL wide receivers with 628 yards. His six touchdowns are tied for second.
There has been no such thing as a sophomore slump for Green. He's already one touchdown away from matching last season's total and there's 10 games left to be played. Green is on pace for 1,674 yards receiving, which would be 617 more than his rookie season.
“Obviously, A.J. Green is an exciting, Pro Bowl-caliber receiver with a unique physical skill set,” said coach Mike Tomlin, whose Steelers face Green on Sunday night. “We will have our hands full, dealing with what he is capable of.”
