Steelers' injury updates
By Jamison Hensley
Here are the Steelers' injury updates from coach Mike Tomlin's Tuesday news conference:
RB Jonathan Dwyer (quad): Will miss practice Wednesday and is expected to return Thursday.
RB Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles): Will do individual drills on Wednesday.
RB Isaac Redman (ankle): Scheduled to practice Wednesday after practicing at the end of last week.
S Troy Polamalu (calf): Ruled out for fourth straight game.
OT Marcus Gilbert (ankle): Ruled out for third straight game.
S Ryan Clark (concussion): Must pass all of the tests and will be monitored all week.
At running back, it looks like there is a chance that all three backs could be available. While Tomlin wouldn't commit to Dwyer as his starter after Sunday's game, it would be surprising if Dwyer didn't get the nod Sunday against the Giants.
It looks like Polamalu and Clark won't play. The Steelers would start backups Will Allen and Ryan Mundy at safety.
Rookie second-round pick Mike Adams has performed well since replacing Gilbert and will continue to start at right tackle.
