Ravens, Steelers pulling for Giants
By James Walker
The AFC North will have a keen interest in Thanksgiving night's matchup between the New York Giants (6-4) and Denver Broncos (6-4).
When it comes to playoff scenarios, the Broncos could be major players down the stretch in determining if more than one AFC North team gets into the postseason.
The Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) and Baltimore Ravens (5-5) are all battling the Broncos and several other teams for two wild-card spots. The good news is Pittsburgh and Baltimore both own the first tiebreaker after winning head-to-head meetings with Denver this season.
However the Broncos have a chance to jump up two games in the win column over the Ravens and one game in the win column on the Steelers if they beat the Giants tonight. Not helping matters is Baltimore and Pittsburgh play one another on Sunday, so one of those teams will drop a crucial game by the end of the weekend.
Here is the list of current wild-card contenders in the AFC:
Jacksonville Jaguars (6-4)
Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4)
Denver Broncos (6-4)
Baltimore Ravens (5-5)
Miami Dolphins (5-5)
Houston Texans (5-5)
