Friday Forecast: Week 14 predictions
By Jamison Hensley
Three AFC North teams are at home this week, and the Ravens only have to take a short bus ride down the interstate to play at the Redskins. While this may be the division homer in me, I feel a perfect Sunday for the AFC North. Let's see if the division can go undefeated this weekend:
Steelers 30, Chargers 13: Ben Roethlisberger comes back at the same time the Chargers are ready to pack it in. In its past two road games, San Diego has allowed at least 30 points. The Steelers are 14-0 all-time at home against the Chargers in the regular season.
Ravens 20, Redskins 16: Baltimore will give up a lot of yards to Robert Griffin III, but the Ravens win because they allow field goals and not touchdowns. The Redskins are tied at No. 16 in red zone offense while the Ravens are tops in the NFL in red zone defense. Plus, the Ravens typically bounce back strong after losses.
Browns 21, Chiefs 17: Trent Richardson is starting to heat up, which will play a big factor in the Browns winning for the third straight time. In his past five games, he's gained at least 72 yards and has scored three touchdowns. Kansas City ranks 26th against the run.
Bengals 34, Cowboys 28: In what will be a shootout, I will take the combination of Andy Dalton-A.J. Green over Tony Romo-Dez Bryant. In the Bengals' four-game winning streak, Dalton has thrown 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. During that same stretch, Green has averaged 93 yards receiving with two touchdowns.
Week 13 record: 2-1. Season record: 24-12 (.667).
Steelers 23, Ravens 20 (my prediction: Ravens 23, Steelers 16)
Bengals 20, Chargers 13 (my prediction: Bengals 20, Chargers 17)
Browns 20, Raiders 17 (my prediction: Browns 26, Raiders 20)
