Good morning from Pittsburgh

By Jamison Hensley

PITTSBURGH -- While all of the focus for Sunday's game against the San Digo Chargers will be on the return of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, it's hard to overlook what the Pittsburgh Steelers defense has done recently.

The NFL's top-ranked defense has allowed less than 300 yards in seven straight games. If the Steelers can keep Philip Rivers and the Chargers below that mark, it would be the second-longest streak of holding teams under 300 yards over the last five seasons, according to ESPN Stats & Information. The 2008 Steelers kept teams under that mark for 14 straight games.

Here's an even better streak: The Steelers are 14-0 against the Chargers in Pittsburgh in the regular season. That’s the best home record for any team vs an opponent in NFL history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

I'm guessing the Steelers would trade in some of those wins for the 1994 AFC championship game at Three Rivers Stadium, where the Chargers upset the heavily Steelers.

I will have a Rapid Reaction as well as a column off of the Steelers-Chargers game. ESPN's Ashley Fox is covering the Baltimore Ravens at Washington Redskins game and will post a Rapid Reaction after that game. I will also have wrap-ups for the Cincinnati Bengals at Dallas Cowboys game and the Cleveland Browns at Kansas City Chiefs matchup.
