Blogger Blitz: Confident Bengals defense
By Jamison Hensley
The Cincinnati Bengals have never beaten Houston's Matt Schaub, but they are certainly not intimidated by him. In the Blogger Blitz video, I talk about the rising confidence of the Cincinnati defense.
Also, Joey Koontz of ESPN Stats & Information breaks out how the Bengals have clamped down on pass defense. Cincinnati has yielded the fifth-lowest Total QBR (41.8) to opponents and has given up a league-low 10 pass plays of at least 30 yards.
The Bengals don't allow much in the short passing game, either. On passes that traveled 10 yards in the air or fewer, the Bengals gave up one touchdown on such throws in the last eight games (a span of 209 passes).
The Texans, who play the Bengals in Saturday's wild-card game, finished as the league's 11th-best passing attack.
