Wayne: Lewis' final dance 'disrespectful'

By Jamison Hensley

Ray Lewis is one of the most well-liked figures with players around the league. That's why it was surprising to hear someone speak out against him. It's even more surprising when you consider who was doing the complaining.

Colts receiver Reggie Wayne considered Lewis' final dance Sunday, which came in the middle of the field as the final seconds ticked off, a slap in the face.

"I saw it as disrespectful," Wayne told WNDE-AM in Indianapolis. "They'd already had a tribute every quarter."

It's rare to see one player from "The U" (University of Miami) take a shot at another, although Wayne played with Ed Reed and not Lewis during his time there.

Was Lewis' final dance over the top? Sure it was. But this was Lewis' final home game after 17 seasons playing in Baltimore. It was the end of an emotional day for Lewis, his teammates and 70,000 fans. Just give him a pass. He's earned it.
